The promise
I will not hold your files hostage.
If you stop paying, you keep reading everything you made, and you can export all of it. Reading and export never lock. What a plan buys is editing and, once it ships, sync.
Your notes are plain Markdown. Your boards are plain Markdown. The way out is always open, and it is on the page, not in the fine print.

Oak and Altitude
On your device, encrypted
- Kept in your browser's private file system, one folder per vault.
- Every file is encrypted with AES-256. File names are hidden too.
- The key comes from your passphrase and lives in memory only while you are unlocked.
- A 12-word recovery phrase works on the same device only.
- Export gives you a zip of plain Markdown in the Obsidian layout.
WatchNotes
On my server, same library everywhere
- A database per member on a server I run, backed up every night, with 14 nights kept.
- The app stores only your member token on your device.
- It is not end-to-end encrypted, because the server writes the summaries.
The honest part. Cloud copy and sync between devices are the next things I am building. Until they ship, lose the device and you lose any Oak or Altitude vault you have not exported. On iPhone and iPad, add the app to the Home Screen before you make a vault, because a vault made in plain Safari can be cleared after 7 days unused.

Do I have to buy all three? +
No. Each app is sold on its own: Altitude $10, Oak $8, WatchNotes $6 a month. The Suite is $18 for all three, which is $6 a month less than buying them one by one.
How does the free trial work? +
You get 14 days of everything, editing included. Checkout is not switched on yet, so the trial button on this page takes you to the pricing section. When it opens, the same button starts your 14 days.
What happens if I stop paying? +
Your files stay readable and you can export them whenever you like. Read and export never lock. Editing and sync need a plan.
Can I switch from one app to the Suite later? +
Yes. The other apps appear in the same install. No reinstall, and nothing moves, because every app already reads the same place.
Do I need Obsidian? +
No. The apps stand on their own. They write plain Markdown and export in the Obsidian folder layout, so if you already use Obsidian, what you make here opens there.
Does it work on my iPad and iPhone? +
Yes, in the browser, and best when you add it to the Home Screen so it opens like an app. A native iOS version is planned, but it is not here yet.
Can I sync between my devices? +
Not yet. Sync is the next thing being built. Until then each device keeps its own vault, and you can move files with export and import.
