WatchNotes · the video library

Learn from video. Stop re-watching.

Save a talk, and WatchNotes keeps the transcript, your highlights and your notes in one searchable library. Next month you search for the idea instead of scrubbing through an hour of video.

From $6 a month. 14-day trial. Your files stay yours.

What you do with it

Three ways people use WatchNotes.

  1. 01

Keep a talk you want to learn from

Save the video and get the full transcript beside it. Highlight the lines that matter and add your own notes underneath.

Example. A 50-minute talk on pricing. You keep four highlighted lines and one note, and never need to watch it again.

  2. 02

    Share what you found

Turn a saved talk into a public link. Anyone can open it without an account and read the transcript and notes.

Example. Send a client one link: the video, the transcript, and the three lines you want them to read first.

  3. 03

    Search everything you have watched

Search across the whole library by what was said, not by what you remember the title being.

Example. Type "pricing page" and find the six moments across four videos where someone talked about it.

How storage works

On the server. Same library everywhere.

Unlike Oak and Altitude, WatchNotes keeps your library on my server, so the same videos, transcripts and notes show up on every device you sign in on.

  • The library lives on a server I run, in a database with your own search index.
  • It is backed up every night and the last 14 nights are kept.
  • The app stores only your member token on your device. Sign in with it and your library is there.
  • Reading is never locked. If you stop paying, you can still read what you saved.

The honest part

WatchNotes is not end-to-end encrypted the way Oak and Altitude are, because the server does the summaries. Keep private thoughts in Oak and keep what you learned from public videos here.

Pricing

$6 a month. Or all three for $18.

Try it for 14 days. If you stop paying, you can still read your files and export them. Read and export never lock.

Before you start

Asked every time.

Do I need to download the videos? +

No. You save a link and WatchNotes does the rest on the server. The app does not download video to your device.

Can anyone see my library? +

No. Your library is private to your member token. Only the talks you choose to share get a public link.

How is this different from a notes app? +

A notes app holds what you typed. WatchNotes holds what was said, with timestamps, and lets you search it. Your own notes sit on top.

How does the free trial work? +

You get 14 days of everything, editing included. Checkout is not switched on yet, so the trial button on this page takes you to the pricing section. When it opens, the same button starts your 14 days.

What happens if I stop paying? +

Your files stay readable and you can export them whenever you like. Read and export never lock. Editing and sync need a plan.

Can I switch from one app to the Suite later? +

Yes. The other apps appear in the same install. No reinstall, and nothing moves, because every app already reads the same place.
